
SNY Sports Join Forces with SMART to Offer High Stakes Payoff in Text Messaging Contest

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 18, 2005—SMART announced a partnership with SNY Sports LLC that will promote the nationwide contest "College Football Ticket Giveaway" that calls for consumers to use their mobile phones to answer trivia questions and a "TEXT IN TO WIN" promotion with the opportunity to win tickets to sporting events, sports memorabilia, or other fantastic prizes using SMART technologies and services.
Contestants have the opportunity to participate by texting the letters CFBFAN to the SMART code 76278. Contests will be promoted regionally for games of local interest and nationally for larger events such as bowl games. A percentage of the proceeds from the venture will benefit local charities and other national non-for-profit organizations.
SMART pioneered and set standards for Mobile Entertainment worldwide. In addition, over the past four years, SMART has developed and managed hundreds of text message campaigns for top brands such as Visa, MasterCard and Coca-Cola along with Hollywood Blockbusters such as: "X-Men," "Kill Bill" and "The Matrix."
The contract between the two companies was signed in Hollywood early last week. SNY Sports has chosen SMART to be its 'Mobile Marketing Provider' for their College Football programs.

The service is very simple to use. Say for example, that in next issue of ESPN Magazine there would be an ad from SNY Sports. Let us assume one million people entered the contest by sending in the text message CFBFAN to the number 76278. The promotion could then receive as many as one million messages--creating as much as one million dollars in new revenue! |
