World Tour 2003

Just before Britney's World Tour 2003, SMART was asked to come up with an idea to incorporate a form of SMS on her World Tour. SMART had just recently launched its new SMS service called Celebrity Text Chat. You send in the keyword "BRITNEY" to the number 76278 and you could win a date with Britney for a day. By sending in, you would become a member of the Britney Spears SMS Fan Club, and on any given morning, you could receive a personal text message "from Britney", with news on what she would be doing that afternoon. This service is perfect for use by all kinds of celebrities-sports, movies, or rockstars. Imagine if just a mere 50,000 sign in... one Monday morning you could send out a message, and the end user will pay $.50 to gladly receive it. That is a good $25,000 for a one time SMS (and it only needs to consist of less than 160 characters!). The revenue potential can be as big as you want it to be.

In 2002, SMART created a marketing campaign for Hyundai Motors, featuring the launch of its new compact car, the Hyundai Getz. SMART created the concept, the ads, and finally implemented an SMS Instant Win game using PremiumSMS. The goal within the campaign was to let the end user send in the message "GETZ" to our short code. The nature of the game was to get all the end users who participated, together at one place and time, where we would ultimately call one of those lucky numbers and give away a brand new car. If you were at that Hyundai dealership at the exact time of the call, the cars was yours! This campaign was a tremendous success and received loads of free publicity because of its nature.
