Julio Cesar Chavez and SMART are a K.O.!

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 25, 2005—SMART announced today a collaboration with the Julio Cesar Chavez Boxing Team. The Staples Center will be hosting "ADIOS - The Farewell Appearance of Julio Cesar Chavez..." In his last ring appearance in Los Angeles, J.C. Chavez will be challenging Ivan Robinson on May 28, 2005.

Fans will have the opportunity to win Vintage Memorabilia, Ringside Seating, VIP Photograph Opportunities, After-Party Invites, and VIP Tickets by participating in a text messaging campaign using their cell phones to send in CHAVEZ, to the number 76278 (SMART), and answering trivia questions such as:

‘In how many different weight classes has J.C. Chavez Sr. won championships?’ Or, ‘How old was the champ when he won his first pro title?’

Julio Cesar Chavez is undoubtedly the greatest Mexican boxer of all time. He is an icon in the Boxing Community -- having drawn the highest attendance of 135,000 for an open stadium-boxing event. He is highly respected throughout Mexico, as he was the first Mexican to win three championships in three different fight classes. His career started in 1980 and he went undefeated in his first 96 fights. J.C. Chavez is seen as a god within the Boxing Community.
